How strategic clarity, portfolio innovation and market-led thinking helped reshape the path from OEM expertise to a differentiated consumer brand.

THE CHALLENGE on consumer brand

Strong capabilities. Untapped brand potential.

Jina Cosmetics had established significant expertise in OEM wet-wipe manufacturing, supported by a large-scale manufacturing facility and a portfolio of leading D2C clients.

Yet, despite possessing strong manufacturing capabilities and existing consumer-facing product experience, the organisation efforts to build and scale its own brand went invain.

The challenge was therefore not simply product creation. It was a strategic question:

How can an established manufacturing business convert its core capabilities into a differentiated, scalable consumer brand?

The business required greater clarity around its brand vision, innovative product portfolio, consumer proposition, clear roadmap and go-to-market strategy. That became the starting point for Miraaya Ventures.

THE APPROACH

Strategy before scale. Market before product.

Miraaya Ventures partnered with the leadership team to reassess the opportunity from the ground up. Our intervention was structured across three strategic layers:

01 | Strategic Diagnosis & Vision

We worked with the leadership team to understand its existing strengths, aspirations and strategic direction. Through structured brainstorming and assessment of the organisation's strengths and SWOT, we helped establish a clearer vision for its consumer-brand ambition.

02 | Product & Portfolio Transformation

With the strategic direction established, the focus moved to product-market fit. Miraaya Ventures worked on product innovation, redesign and portfolio direction—aligning new product opportunities with the company's existing capabilities while identifying a roadmap for future expansion. This process resulted in the development of 31 SKUs, establishing a significantly broader product platform for the emerging brand.

03 | Market Strategy & Go-to-Market

The next layer was translating the product opportunity into a commercially relevant market strategy. Market research and analysis were undertaken to define the opportunity, assess TAM/SAM, shape the launch strategy, identify innovation opportunities and establish a roadmap for growth and expansion.

THE TRANSFORMATION

From “what can we manufacture?” to “what can we build?”

The strategic exercise evolved the proposition into MW&B—a modern personal-care brand conceptualised for modern consumers.

The brand direction focused on creating differentiated personal-care essentials built around:

  • Proprietary serum-led solutions for specific consumer needs

  • Skin-friendly and wellness-oriented propositions

  • Sustainable product thinking

  • Toxin-free and cruelty-free positioning

  • Biodegradable and flushable product solutions

  • A consumer experience extending beyond the transaction

The broader brand philosophy also incorporated by aligning with SDG goals, connecting commercial ambition with social and environmental responsibility.

THE IMPACT

The engagement created a strategic foundation for moving from a manufacturing-led business model toward a consumer-brand opportunity.

The transformation can be represented as:

Manufacturing Strength >> Strategic Repositioning >> Consumer & Market >> Understanding >> Product Innovation >> 31-SKU Portfolio Development >> Brand Vision & Direction >> Go-to-Market Strategy >> Expansion & Growth Roadmap

The MW&B case demonstrates a fundamental principle of business transformation:

Existing capabilities become significantly more valuable when they are connected to a clearly defined market opportunity, differentiated proposition and executable growth strategy.

MIRAAYA VENTURES' ROLE

At Miraaya Ventures, our role is not limited to advising businesses on what they should do.
